I just think about all the crap Serena has had to endure her entire career. And she has to worry about stuff like this to boot. That ball was clearly wide and you over rule? Then if she shows emotion it's ridicule. This *has* to mess with her psychologically. But she has risen above so much. Truly astonishing!
Their RR group this year was stacked with these 2 Dementieva and Kuzzy compared to the other group. Serena didn't lose a match GOAT.

What amazes me is that players like Serena argue so much about a line call that goes against them, but when a bad call goes against their opponent, they just take it.Double standards!

When her game is on, Venus is absolutely stunning...I think that's why I always liked to watch her play more than Serena. I just think the way Venus plays is more aesthetically pleasing. Plus she is beautiful and have legs for days!

I gotta say i do miss the days when Venus used to run like this. Was so phenomenal.
That was 6 years ago, you don't expect her to be that consistent day in day out.. It's not as easy as it looks and she's knows Venus's game, they practice together a lot and grew up playing together.... Moreover, it's how your game matches up against your opponent. It's all about how ready you are on that day, anything could happen.

Pan Luk she can but she doesn't often hit as hard since she got older. More tactical now,Madison Keys,Maria,Kvitpva,Ostapenko hit harder than her. Her serve is still very fast but not the fastest. With Serena its more about her toss disguise and ball placement is so spot on it's the best ever.

Dumb announcers. The point wasn't replayed -- look at the score. You don't replay a point when the ball is out.

Ummmmm what exactly didn't I listen to? The announcer said "replay the point". The point wasn't replayed. Look at the score. It went from 15-30 to 30-all after the challenge, and then Serena served an ace.
people make mistakes. it was a human error from the umpire and the lines people. serena needs to accept that and move on. typical overreaction from her.
Who's overreacting here, Serena or you? Serena asked the umpire if she overruled it, asked if she could challenge it and then did so. When the replay showed how far out the ball was, she rolled her eyes. The End. How is that an overreaction?

Serena and Venus' level of play during this match was off the charts. Serena was desperate to win this title after the controversy of the US Open, and Venus wanted to defend her title from last year. Excellent match, probably the best they've ever played against each other.

it highlights some of the differences... Venus is (- she always was) more athletic and aggressive at the net, Serena [like Davenport] absorbs pace better...Venus hits flatter but Serena's shots are heavier (quite a lot more spin and up to 10 mph faster on the Hawk-Eye / Pointracker readings). Serena's game has more intrinsic margin for error (more like ATP - type tennis) whereas Venus' shots are a lot riskier, if she wants to continuously aggressive, especially when playing someone like Serena. It's always been the case but these differences became more apparent the longer they were on the Tour.
hahahahaah! I laughed at 8:25-30 because of the great tennis these players have shown, better tennis than any other players can do, like I'm watching men's tennis, and Williams sisters 've brought up the quality of women's tennis. They are legends. So good!
